“Grace Davidson has one of the most beautiful and pure soprano voices on earth”

During the heart of the lockdown, March 2021, I decided to record a whole album of pure Medieval plainchant. I have always loved the extraordinary variety of music and text written by the inimitable Polymath, composer, poet, Abbess and Philosopher, Hildegard von Bingen, and at a time when so much of my scheduled performances were silenced by the pandemic, I took great solace in singing her music.

This album became an unexpected yet viable recording project that I was able to persue because it quite literally only involved me and was therefore quite simple to put together. I look forward to releasing the album on the Signum record label, digitally on March 4th and physically on March 8th 2022, International Women’s day.

This is one of the best discs of medieval music I have heard in quite some time, and it goes straight to my list of recordings of the year.
